His lifelong pursuit of crafting visceral experiences with materials and technology has earned him a keen sense of the art of the possible that is tempered with a pragmatism that enables him to manifest what he imagines.

Long before that, Jay began his career as a machinist and fabricator developing exhibits at the renowned San Francisco museum The Exploratorium. Work as a creator in the most basic sense as grounded Jay with the deep knowledge and appreciation of what it takes to build real things in the physical world, where attention to detail, patience, and self-reflection is paramount to mastery.

Given his lifelong autodidactic affliction, he was soon on to projects of greater complexity and impact: as a Prototype Engineer and Machine Designer, he completed a diverse array of work at future-tech startups in the fields of clean energy, electric vehicles, and education.  All explored ways in which breakthrough technology can be applied to solve today's problems.

He returned to his roots in Experience Design to satisfy his first love of play and spectacle. As Technical Producer at famed the San Francisco firm Obscura Digital, he found a home with like-minded individuals who boldly took on the world's most awe-inspiring productions with style and aplomb.

In life, he continues to seek experiences of all kinds, and crafts devices to facilitate the pursuit -- from excursions deep into nature on automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles that he restores, to music from the modular synthesizers and vintage hi-fi he builds, to heat from the spices that he grinds for his curry.
